Lisa Carruth, CMP, brings passion, leadership, and heart to her role as PCMA’s 2026 President. A member since 2019, Lisa has served as President of the Lone Star Chapter since 2022 and PCMA Vice-President in 2025, inspiring those around her through her commitment to excellence and connection. With a hospitality career that began in 2002, Lisa has built her success in the private club industry, now leading membership sales at a private equity club in Houston. She earned her CMP designation in 2024 and credits PCMA for the education, friendships, and professional growth it has provided. Residing in Missouri City, Texas, with her husband Aaron, son Trenton, and dogs Gus and Pax, Lisa is also a devoted foster parent, having welcomed six children into her home. Her dedication to service—both personally and professionally—reflects the very best of PCMA’s values.

Sarah Small is the Vice President of Membership Sales & Marketing for Gate Hospitality Group, overseeing four of northeast Florida’s most prestigious private clubs — The Ponte Vedra Inn & Club, The Lodge & Club, Epping Forest Yacht & Country Club, and The River Club. She currently oversees membership for Gate Hospitality Group, which includes four of northeast Florida’s most prestigious clubs: The Ponte Vedra Inn & Club, The Lodge & Club, Epping Forest Yacht & Country Club, and The River Club.

Under Sarah’s leadership, three of these clubs have established and maintained waitlists, a reflection of her ability to build demand and elevate the member experience. Known for her creativity, innovation, and bold vision, Sarah is a recognized voice in the industry. Dael Szuch, CMP 2025 North Georgia Chapter President Membership Director Piedmont Driving Club

Dael Szuch brings a creative and community-driven perspective to her nomination. With a career that began in 2011 at Daniel Island Club, Dael has built a reputation as a storyteller, connector, and innovator in the private club world. Currently serving as Director of Membership & Communications at Atlanta Country Club, she has led transformative initiatives that strengthened member engagement, enhanced brand identity, and fostered meaningful connections.

A two-term PCMA North Georgia Chapter President, Dael has been an active presence at national conferences and in building chapter community. She is particularly passionate about mentorship and community service, leveraging club platforms for causes like breast cancer awareness through her leadership in Pink Ribbon Week.

In her letter of commitment, Dael expressed her vision to create space where every PCMA member feels seen, heard, and supported, while encouraging mentorship, collaboration, and community service as cornerstones of PCMA’s future.

Outside of work, she enjoys travel and adventure with her boyfriend Jonathan and their dog Meatball, living out the same curiosity and energy she brings to her professional life.

Voting Will Open On October 3rd

Voting for the 2026 PCMA Vice President will open on October 3rd and will close on October 17, 2025. The announcement of the newly elected Vice President will be made on October 22, 2025.

Mary Megan Alvarado has been a vital member of PCMA since 2015, bringing a decade of private club experience to her role. As Membership Director at The Athletic Club of Columbus (ACC), she has been instrumental in fostering meaningful connections and driving innovative membership initiatives. Mary Megan’s leadership journey began as Administrative and Membership Coordinator at the ACC, where she developed a passion for the private club industry. Her first PCMA conference in Kansas City ignited her commitment to learning, networking, and growing within the organization.

Earning her Certified Membership Professional (CMP) designation was a career milestone, empowering her to navigate challenges and build resilient member connections, even during the pandemic. In 2021, she was promoted to Membership Director and elected President of the Greater Cleveland Chapter, where her vision and inclusivity expanded chapter membership and established strong regional networks.

Mary Megan is particularly proud of creating the ACC’s Blue Wing Ambassador Program, an initiative that ensures new members are authentically onboarded and supported through mentorship opportunities. Her leadership style is defined by collaboration, curiosity, and a genuine care for others. “The day I stop learning and evolving is the day I start wasting my time,” she says, exemplifying her commitment to growth and innovation.

Listening closely to this feedback, PCMA has undertaken a significant evolution in the educational landscape for meetings starting in 2024 and extending into the future. Instead of relying solely on external speakers, the approach to educational meetings has been redefined. The expanded framework now embraces a diverse array of educational components. November 1, 2023, Daphne, AL: The Professional Club Marketing Association (PCMA) is delighted to announce the launch of its cutting-edge mobile app, developed in collaboration with Pacesetter Technology. This innovative mobile application is designed to enhance the PCMA membership experience, revolutionizing the way club marketing professionals access resources and connect with their peers within the PCMA community. 

Dedicated to empowering its members with the latest tools and technologies, the PCMA mobile app debuted at this year's Club Membership & Marketing Conference in Texas and quickly proved to be a valuable resource to members. The PCMA App housed conference agendas, details on breakout sessions, maps, conference photos and much more. Participants were able to instantly message the Registration Desk and receive immediate replies to questions and comments. The mobile app also allowed the audience to text questions to speakers in real time. About Holly: I have lived in Connecticut my entire life and have lived in my current town for twenty-four years. My son Aidan is 19 years old, and he just started his sophomore year at Virginia Tech in the Business School. Boy, do I miss him! I also have an 8-year-old black lab named Roscoe and he is quite the love bug. In my spare time away from the Club, I like to take long (4-6 miles), fast walks, garden, do home projects and spend time with family and friends. 

I have been the Membership Director at The Hartford Golf Club in West Hartford, Connecticut for the past 18 years. I have an Associate of Science Degree from Manchester Community College. I have been a member of PCMA for quite a long time and have both the CMP and MCMP certifications. I just finished three years as President of the New England Chapter of PCMA.

About Mary:

I began my private club career at the ACC in 2013 equipped with a passion for hospitality. As an Administrative and Membership Coordinator, I quickly learned the importance of multitasking with membership initiatives – there’s never a dull moment in this industry! I attended my first PCMA conference in Kansas City, Missouri, excited to network, learn more about other clubs, and absorb as much knowledge as possible.  The highlight of the conference was hearing about all the ideas from professionals and peers that could influence Club culture. Ultimately, this fueled my motivation to study rigorously for the CMP exam. The CMP achievement ignited my enthusiasm and unlocked confidence that provided the momentum to stay connected to our membership through the pandemic. In 2021, I was promoted to Membership Director and voted President of the Greater Cleveland Chapter, which opened doors to many new relationships within PCMA.

My 10 years at The Athletic Club of Columbus and 8 years within PCMA have taught me the importance of collaborative leadership. One of my greatest achievements during my tenure at the ACC is the development of the Blue Wing Ambassador Program. The program’s origins were humbly supported by the ACC’s Membership Committee to authentically onboard and integrate new members into our community. The program has blossomed to incorporate one-on-one meet ups with the goal of mentoring opportunities between members in the future.  

I hope to make PCMA a stronger organization through collaboration and offering support to the leadership team. “The day I stop learning and evolving is the day I start wasting my time” is my personal motto. I look forward to further development with you as your VP!

“Critical Thinking Series” for the Entire Staff, Board and Committees!  As we have always been taught, a team that learns together, prospers.  The Critical Thinking Series is designed for that purpose.  By bringing your team of decision makers to hear incredible speakers discussing current issues effecting the overall industry, will allow decisions made in the future to be based on informative, factual and strategic thought out plans.  Designed as reoccurring webinars, this series is available to all PCMA members and their teams. 

Because of the cutting-edge nature of the series and the necessity to be current to emerging issues, webinar topics will be released a month in advance, and available on a first come first served basis. The program is complimentary, and the format will be 45 to 75 minutes of presentation with at least 15 minutes of discussion and/or questions.  Each session will be proctored so that questions can be passed directly to the faculty expert making the presentation. Don’t miss this amazing series and the opportunity to engage your entire team in staying well ahead of the informational curve.

Not unlike the earlier years, it is the intent of your PCMA Team to continue being all of the attributes previously noted that has made PCMA the success it is. However, we also accept the reality that any association, no different than any private club, needs to strive to be all its members desire it to be. Therefore, the PCMA Team and leadership hope to gain your support as PCMA embarks on A New Beginning.   This new beginning is intended to be all about you, the members of PCMA. The focus is on a directional change that is intended to be a directional enhancement. We all know many good aspects can derive from change, however requirements such as the will, the determination, the involvement, and the accountability all need to be in sync for change to truly add enhancements.

Several weeks ago, a survey was launched to all members of PCMA titled “The Future of PCMA” and for those of you who attended the conference in Dallas or virtually, were made aware of the survey forthcoming and its intent to lead PCMA into A New Beginning. Not unlike other surveys, the sole purpose being to receive input from others, the focus for this particular survey is to gain the invaluable feedback from all PCMA members on the future direction of this association.  Representation and leadership driven by an advisory board, slated committees to assist the PCMA Team in enhancing areas of chapter leadership, certification, on-going education, conferences, association communications are just a few of the exciting topics we hope to gain insight on as we plan 2022 and many years to follow.

If you have not already participated in the survey, please do immediately by utilizing the link provided in this issue of the member’s newsletter. The survey responses are being tabulated daily in an effort to get the results finalized and all efforts can be focused based upon the feedback from all of you.
